MAC/65 for Atari 400 800 XL XE by OSS, Inc., screenshot, dump, ads, commercial, instruction, catalogs, roms, review, scans, tips, video. About: This is a subreddit for those who enjoyed Atari's last entry in the console business. The 64-bit Atari Jaguar sold over 250,000 units from 1993 to 1996. Rules: • No Jag bashing, if you came here just to start a flame war you will be banned. • No linking to roms unless they are public domain and/or homebrew games where the developer has said you could share them. • No debating the 64-bit cred of the Jag. It's been argued over and over and isn't wanted here. Useful Links: - A great community of Jaguar and Atari enthusiasts, also a good outlet of news on new and upcoming homebrew games. - Another great community that focuses on everything Atari including the Jaguar. The Retro Gaming Network consists of subreddits dedicated to classic consoles, computers, handhelds, and old school gaming in general. Check out the sidebar to explore our network! Not sure if it's still a thing, or if I'm even remembering it right, but years ago, when Jaguar emulation was an active topic, there has been a lot of friction between the emulator developers and some vocal elements of the Jaguar collector community, who harassed the devs, accusing them, among other things, of enabling piracy. For the longest time posting a topic about Jaguar emulation has been a good way of getting banned of most Jag message boards. This is possibly the same reason there has been no decent flash cart for the system. Its not really just a lack of interest but that the hardware is just unyieldy because of terrible documentation and the complexity of how the chip sets worked since you had to emulate Tom, Jerry, OBJ, Blitter and the 68k (which was only suppose to be a bootstrapper.). As you may know a lot of devs cut corners and ported 16-bit games directly to the Jag running off of the 68k while first party games used the chipsets so that might be why compatibility is so bad on current emulators. It just shows how much of a mess the architecture was. Though with the advent of the RAPTOR engine and more people dabbling in programming on the Jag, we might see somebody try to make a better emulator. ![]() Hell somebody is working on an SD cart for it right now. Emulators Online - Atari ST Emulation - - Gemulator 9 Updated November 30 2008 by Darek Mihocka Run classic Apple Macintosh, Atari ST, and Atari 8-bit software! When released in September 1992 at the Glendale Atari Fair in California, ' Gemulator' was the world's first Atari ST emulator for the PC. Written in almost nothing but 486 machine code, Gemulator 1.0 was capable of running Atari ST software at full 68000 speeds on Intel 486 based MS-DOS computers. Gemulator was upgraded in 1993 to add emulation of Apple Macintosh Plus computers running Mac System 6. This was followed in 1995 with releases to run on Microsoft Windows 3.1 and Windows 95. In 1998 we added support for Windows 98 and NT 4.0, and spun off a sister product called 'Gemulator SoftMac' (or simply as ' SoftMac') which added the ability to emulate 32-bit color Mac models such as the Macintosh II and Macintosh Quadra.
